I remodelled a Stearman kit, made it into a cropduster, crated the wings, stuck it on an old cast flatcar, and shot it with a Casio QV-120. Mark Spencer

Above are shots of my Pearce eight coupled switcher lettered for the Cherry Valley Lines. I bought it in at the National in Dearborn a few years back and have done nothing but own and run it. It looked so nice in Cherry Valley that I just left it and assume it's a war effort loaner. Mark Spencer

Here are two pictures of model locos I have built. On the right is a B&O A-3 Atlantic, built from an All Nation kit I got in 1970. 20 years later, I modified it to this state. The model also has a sound unit synchronized with the main rods and constant lighting. It can haul 5 passenger cars at about a scale 60 mph while drawing only 1.5 amperes. At a local county fair O gauge club display, this engine ran 12 hours a day for 5 days with no problems. I took the photo indoors. Ed Bommer

To the left is a model of a UP DDA-40X "Centennial" I did a complete rebuild of it for a friend of mine. It was a Loco Workshop kit from the 1970's and had been badly damaged. It has a new frame and floor, Central Locomotive Works drive, strobe flasher unit, constant directional lighting and special articulated, long shank, self-centering coupler mounts I designed for it. The big lettering is from a dry transfer set, the rest is from Champion Decals. It is capable of hauling a train of about 40 cars each weighing close to a pound. I took this photo on a simple set indoors. Ed Bommer

John Polsgrove of Bardwell, Ky models the South - and models it very well!
This shot depicts the depot at Union City TN where the GM&O and the NC&StL once crossed... many years ago...
His son, Bill, shot the photos.

Mark Spencer converted an old Varney Ten Wheeler to SP standards. The tender is scratchbuilt - his first, and probably last, effort!
Mark used a digital camera for the photos.

Edward Bommer scratchbuilt this Rock Island covered gondola in styrene over a wood form. Brass details include full brake rigging with a slack adjuster and air brake piping. Ed shot the photo outdoors. The car placed as Best of Show at the NMRA North Eastern Region Convention model contest in Saratoga NY, Spring, 1997.
